Update on GDPR and client privacy

New laws come into force on 25th May 2018 which aim to further safeguard your personal data. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European Union (EU) law which aims to protect and unify the sharing of personal data within the EU. Once in place, it will help create more transparency for what data is kept, how it is stored and what it is used for.

All clients’ personal data will be protected by GDPR. This includes your name, date of birth, phone number and medical details. GDPR aims to give consumers more control over what their data is used for. After all, the data remains yours, regardless of who you share it with. Individual rights under GDPR are as follows:

• The right to be informed – High Spirit Therapies is asking for email, phone number on client consent forms or mail orders. You must opt-in and have the right to know how long High Spirit Therapies will keep the data for and who it will be shared with. We will never share your data with anyone unless you consent to share with another medical practitioner. We will keep your data for 6 years after your last appointment as required by practitioner insurance after which it is destroyed.

• The right to access – You have the right to request access to your data and know what it is being used for.

• The right to rectification – You have the right to correct your data if it is inaccurate or incomplete.

• The right to erasure – You can request for your details to be deleted or removed where there is no reason for holding (e.g. You are no longer a client). Please email info@highspirittherapies.co.uk with the header “GDPR removal request” and we will remove any data at the earliest opportunity.

• The right to restrict processing – You can restrict High Spirit Therapies processing your data if you believe it is inaccurate. High Spirit Therapies can store your data going forward but cannot use it.

• The right to data portability – You have the right to request for your information to be sent to another business/practitioner, or to access it in a format which is easily used for personal use/other services.

• The right to object – You have the right to object to High Spirit Therapies using your data for direct marketing.

• The right to be notified – You have the right to know of any breaches to your data within 72 hours of discovery.

You can request a Subject Access Request (SAR) at any time. If submitted, High Spirit Therapies must provide all the information we hold on you free of charge within 30 days.

Making a Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse through our products, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping basket.

After you have finished your selection, click on “Checkout” and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order. If an item in your basket needs to be removed, please click on the ‘View Basket’ button in the shop. When you see the basket, tick on the item to be removed and click the update button.

Currently you can pay via Paypal or pay cash or cheque on pick up.

If you prefer, Paypal can be chosen for most debit/credit card payments. Paypal members can choose this option and they will be directed to Paypal’s secure server on the final stage of checkout.

All prices are in pounds sterling and transactions will be processed using the same currency.

High Spirit Therapies offer a ‘Money-back Guarantee’ and will offer a full refund on all products purchased if you contact us within 7 days of delivery and then return the products within the agreed time-frame. Any items returned must be unused and in their original packaging. We will not be able to refund your postage in these circumstances.

All our oils are guaranteed 100% pure and unadulterated and are certificated from the suppliers. We therefore assure your satisfaction and offer our products with a 7 day refund policy as shown below.

If, in the unlikely event, you feel the oils or any of our products are not the high quality you were expecting, please contact us by email, within 14 days of delivery and explain your reasons. We will look into the matter immediately and always endeavour to replace the product or refund your money in full. However, the item would need to be returned within the set time frame and as originally packaged (unfortunately, we would not normally be able to refund your return postage in this instance). Your statutory rights would not be affected. If there any claims, errors, or discrepancies, these must be reported immediately.

Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm.

We never use any of the following in our products:

  • Aluminium salts (they block the skin pores)
  • Aqueous cream (a petroleum by-product)
  • BHT (possibly linked to being a carcinogenic)
  • Borax (a strong irritant), Collagen (an animal/foetus product)
  • Isopropyl myristate (a chemical irritant)
  • Kathon (a preservative suspected to cause allergic reactions on skin)
  • Mineral oil, Triethanolamine and Paraffin (all petroleum by-products causing the skin to dry out).

 

Environmental policy

At High Spirit Therapies we’re proud of our packaging as well as our products. We strive to ensure that our products are appealing to the eye as well as being the best value around.

We only use glass bottles/jars and PET or other recyclable plastic bottles and jars.

We always try and re-use our boxes and packaging, and our herbal teas are bio-degradable and can be placed on your home compost bin.

We are always looking at other ways to improve our carbon footprint and would welcome any suggestions.

If you wish to return empty pots, bottles and jars, you can do so by dropping them at one of our events, markets or fairs. As a thank you, you will be given money off your next purchase.

 

 

Delivery/Postage

Orders are placed through our website. Any web orders, whether placed on a working day, a weekend, or a holiday, will not be looked at until the next working day. Once you have paid for an order, any changes will be treated as a new order. If items are out of stock we will contact you.

We have reviewed and simplified our P&P costs and have decided to offer free delivery to our customers in mainland UK. Orders for mainland UK orders are FREE via Royal Mail 2nd class/economy. Orders to other countries are subject to Royal Mail charges. Please contact for further details.

All our items will be sent by either Royal Mail or a courier company with the option of next working day delivery. Your items will be insured up to a value of £30.00. If the value of your goods is more than this, we would recommend you pay the extra premium to have the courier with full insurance. This will cover the whole value of the parcel (up to £1000) should there be any damage or loss. The basic courier service will insure your parcel up to a value of £50. If your parcel is valued at over £30 (for the Royal Mail) or £50 (for the courier service) and you do not choose extra insurance, High Spirit Therapies can not be held responsible for the excessive amount if the parcel is lost or damaged.
For the Royal Mail 1st class post, items will be sent within 2 working days of the order being received.

If the items are sent by Royal Mail economy, they will be despatched within 5-7 working days and will then usually be sent by second class post.

Please note items sent with Royal Mail are not tracked and are only insured up to the value of £30.00. Royal Mail will not count an item as lost until 15 working days have passed since the item was sent (3 weeks). If the parcel is not received after this time we can submit a claim to Royal Mail and resend the parcel to you on receipt of a letter to confirm it has not been received.

All items will be packaged securely and a certificate of postage will be obtained.

At present all orders and deliveries are to the UK mainland only as we are not able to send any liquids or essential oils over the sea.

 

Outside Mainland UK, Europe & International

P&P costs are calculated based upon your shipping zone and the weight of your order.

IMPORTANT: We cannot be held responsible for any delays to your order once the goods have left our premises.

 

Lost or Damaged Goods: In the unlikely event that your product is lost or damaged in transit, please contact us in writing or by email at jo@highspirittherapies.co.uk. In the case of non-delivery, please wait for 7 days after despatch (UK and EU countries) or 15 days from the date of despatch (non-EU and International) before contacting us. In the case of damage please contact us within 48 hours of receipt and return the product to the above address. We will either: refund you the postage costs, give you credit towards your next order or arrange our courier to pick up the damaged goods (for heavy parcels).

Items missing in your parcel: If any item is short delivered and has been charged for, High Spirit Therapies will cover the cost of freight in resending the goods as soon as is possible.

Returned Parcels: If your parcel is returned to us through no fault of our own, we may charge you a redelivery cost. Please ensure that you give us correct delivery information when ordering.

 

Back Orders/Product Availability

The majority of items on our website are in stock, unless indicated. If you have ordered an item and it is not in stock, we will try and make it for you and it will usually take 7 days. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

All products and services are subject to availability. If your order cannot be fulfilled within our usual despatch time you will be contacted. It may (but very seldom does) happen that a product is discontinued after you have ordered it, in this case you will be given a full refund.

We endeavour to ensure accurate pricing in both our catalogue and on website. Prices are subject to change without notice and our website has the most up to date prices. Prices are quoted in UK Sterling (£) without VAT.

For wholesale orders, we do not impose minimum order quantities, ordering items in bulk can result in substantial savings. Should you require a bulk order quote, please do not hesitate to contact us, we will happily provide you with a quote and availability. For bulk orders, any price commitment is made on the placement of your order only.

 

Liability and Disclaimer

The stability and nature of our products may be altered depending on storage conditions. The information provided on our website and in our publications is accurate when printed. High Spirit Therapies expressly disclaims responsibility as to the ordinary or otherwise use(s). Individuals receiving this information must exercise their independent judgment in determining its appropriateness for a particular purpose.

 

As the ordinary or otherwise use(s) of this product is outside the control of High Spirit Therapies, no warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the effect(s) of such use(s), (including damage or injury), or the results obtained. The liability of High Spirit Therapies is limited to the value of the goods and does not include any consequential loss. In no event will High Spirit Therapies be liable for any incidental, consequential, or indirect damages (including, but not limited to), damages for loss of profits, business interruption arising out of the use of or inability to use our products and/or information, or as a result of a delay in providing our products and/or information.
